It's very unfortunate that some of the fellas aspiring to occupy the office of the governor of Anambra come March 17, 2018 are exhibiting characters not worthy of a mere councilor in the State adjudged to be the home of many firsts.
While some tend to aspire without background information on the real situation on the ground, a few others wish to clinch the exalted office by lying their way through; insulting the incumbent governor and maligning every true effort to build friendships amongst the contenders.
Just yesterday, top APC aspirants, in unison, paid a condolence visit to Gov Obiano and his family to condole with them on the demise of Mother Excellency, Mrs Christiana Obiano who passed on at the age of 90 and has been accorded a very befitting funeral thanks to the goodwill and donations by friends of the extended Philip Obiano family.
Though, the condolence visit by the opposition isn't so new in Anambra politics but the visit to Aguleri is being applauded by many well thinking followers of the trend in Anambra State having observed Gov Obiano as an Ambassador of peace and mutual coexistence for bridging all forms of dichotomy between various warring communities, the religious denominations, social groups and trade unions through his exemplary life and unbiased government policies.
During the visit, Gov Obiano who received the APC team led by their South East Leader, Sen Chris Ngige was flanked by his brothers Cyprian Obiano and Evaristus Obiano as well other members of Anambra State Government and his caring wife, Osodieme (as shown in the pictures attached).
It was an atmosphere of love, unbiased exchange of pleasantries with all the APC aspirants present; Andy Ubah, Paul Chukwuma, Barth Nwibe, Johnbosco Onunkwo and Ralph Okeke taking turns to introduce themselves and make comments during which many of them made interesting political jokes to cheer up the governor whose mum's remains was just laid to rest.
And in an epic response, Gov Obiano welcomed their spirit of brotherhood and praised the mere thought of oneness that spur them up to pay the condolence visit putting political differences aside.
Gov Obiano while thanking the APC team for coming, urged them to maintain the spirit of oneness even beyond the forthcoming election noting that "politics and elections will come and go but we shall ever remain brothers and sisters from same Anambra, the Light of the Nation".
In appreciation of the visit of the supposed political opponents, Gov Obiano left his brothers on the mourning table and joined the visiting APC team for a more closer interaction where they ate and shared drinks in an all men affair according to the Igbo tradition while his wife, Osodieme continued on her regular tour of all tables to ensure that every guest was well taken care of as a lovely wife who's husband's mother just passed on.
There was a huge exchange of jokes, friendly banters and cheers to the admiration of other guests and fans.
Unfortunately, Chike Obidigbo was conspicuously absent, a supposed brother from same Anambra North Senatorial Zone and a former member of APGA; same party under which same Gov Obiano defeated him to clinch the party ticket, few years ago.
From the visit, all the aspirants of APC and their aides had a good bonding, a feeling that wowed all onlookers and pleases every true Onye Anambra and all well wishers.
Instead of joining in consoling the governor and his family or at least joining ndị Anambra to celebrate the spirit of brotherhood displayed at Aguleri, Chike Obidigbo through his aide on Facebook, Eneh Chigozie, launched a fresh attack on the wife of the governor of Anambra State.
Reading through the malicious statement released by Obidigbo's aide on Facebook this evening, there are three core lies/insinuations:
1. One thing everyone that attended Obiano mother's burial noticed.
Yes, the people noticed nothing else except the Governor's love for and treatment of all "high and low" as equals. With this alone, Gov Obiano will be re-elected.
2. Osodieme was the one at the family table receiving visitors.
What a lie! Osodieme was all over the place moving form one table to the other ensuring that all is well with all visitors and only comes to the mourning table at intervals to check on her husband and her husband's brothers, who were always on hand to receive the guests.
3. Gov Obiano's SSA Media (Social), Ifeanyi Aniagoh made sure that no pictures were taken at that stage. He prevented our men from taking pictures.
Another white lie. Ifeanyi ANIAGOH was not even at the mourning table at the time the APC team arrived to pay condolence and couldn't have stopped anyone from taking pictures.
Brethren, having presented the case above, it's evident that Chike Obidigbo is more interested in fanning the ember of war and discord in Anambra than paying condolence to his own brother or wishing for a peaceful State.
While the opposition and other aspirants emulate and live by Gov Obiano's exemplary life of peaceful and mutual coexistence, Obidigbo is attacking the wife of the governor.
Obidigbo is the only gubernatorial aspirant who engaged the services of Eneh Eneh Victor Chigozie, a non indigene of our dear State, who is not even wanted in his own State, to do nothing else but to attack and insult the governor of Anambra State, his person, his wife and his whole family.
Anambra is a home of hospitality but not a dwelling place for online assassin and ethugs.
