The death has been announced of Maria-France Asike, wife of Professor Joe Asike, Chief of Staff to the state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano.
She passed away on August 31, 2017 at the age of 63 in upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Maria-France Asike who was born on April 24, 1954 in port au Prince, Haiti, studied at Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium where she met her husband Joseph Asike.
She moved to Nigeria in 1979 with her family where she taught at the University of Ibadan and later to USA in 1986 with her family again.
Maria-France who was committed to social justice throughout her professional and private life is survived by Professor Joseph Asike, Professor at Howard University and Chief of Staff to Governor Willie Obiano, and her children.
