I have followed discussion on Godfatherism in the coming Anambra state gubernatorial election, have listened to opponents and proponents of Godfatherism again in Anambra state.
At this Junction, there is need for definition of terms, yes, there is great difference between Political Godfatherism and Financial Godfatherism.
In 1999, in Emeka offor, Chris Ubah, PDP /Chinwoke Mbadinuju episode, what we have was Financial Godfatherism, and Anambra paid deary for that.
In 2003, in Chris UBAH, PDP /Chris Ngige episode, what we have was financial Godfatherism, and Anambra paid deary for that, yes destruction of government houses, in spite of Ngige later day saint.
In the same 2003, in OJUKWU, APGA /Peter Obi episode, what we have was political Godfatherism, as Peter Obi sponsored himself, and with that, APGA recorded relative development when compared.
In 2010, in Ojukwu, Victor UMEH, APGA /Peter Obi second Episode, what we have was Ojukwu being political and not financial Godfather, with that APGA government continued her development without financial Godfatherism interference.
In 2014, in Victor Umeh, Peter Obi, Apga /Willie Obiano episode, we campaigned thinking that what we have was only Political Godfatherism, but later event coming from Joe Martins Uzodike, the DG willie Obiano election, shows that financial Godfatherism was at the center of the continuous blackmail coming from Peter Obi online supporters against Willie Obiano government.
If you think Anambra is enjoying the power tussle,brought about by the new financial Godfatherism, think about Anambra central Senatorial election the power tussle kept prolonging. Think about many stories going about that people involved who were close to Jonathan then, kept on blocking federal development due to Anambra, just to show the Governor they are in control then etc.Think about the demand that Willie Obiano should pay 7billion to financial Godfatherism with Anambra money.
In this year Anambra gubernatorial election again, PDP and APC has come with financial Godfatherism again.
