President Muhammadu Buhari who departed Abuja on Tuesday for the routine medical check-up, has returned to Abuja from London after a successful routine medical check-up in London.
The presidential aircraft conveying him and some of his aides landed at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 7.00 p.m.
The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Muhammad Bello and a representative of the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, were at the airport to receive him.
The Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari was among other government officials that received him.
President Buhari was expected back in the country on Saturday, May 12, 2018, according to a statement issued to the press by his spokesman, Garba Shehu before he traveled.
The President had a ‘technical stop-over’ in London on his way from the United States where he went to meet with President Donald Trump, fuelling speculations that his health was failing again.
Shehu also revealed that Buhari met with his doctor during the stop-over in London.
He said
“in the course of the technical stop-over for aircraft maintenance in London on his way back from Washington last week, the president had a meeting with his doctor.
“The doctor requested the president to return for a meeting which he agreed to do.”
