Governor Willie Obiano received the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola who was on a one-day working visit to inspect the ongoing Federal government projects in the State, at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia, Anambra State.
After he was received at the State's Border with Enugu at Amansea by the State Commissioner for Road Infrastructure, Furniture and Maintenance, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor, the Minister proceeded to inspect work on the 1.59 kilometer second Niger Bridge.
During the visit, it was observed that piling work has been done 15 percent from the Delta end while pile cases to be used for reinforcing the foundation of the bridge, had started arriving.
After the exercise, the Governor engaged the Minister in a close-door meeting where discussions centered on the Super interchange that the State proposes to construct around Revenue House Junction, Agu-Awka, the Second Niger Bridge, the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, the refund of the over 50 billion naira owed the State on Federal works among other issues.
