Camilla and Charles, 69, were on a trip to the Isles of Scilly, off the Cornish coast, and the cake was made by a local baker, who piped the words “Happy Birthday Ma’am” on the top with icing.
The Royal couple also visited a food market, where they examined gin and beer, but stopped short of a celebratory tipple.
They are on their annual tour of the south-west of England, which they started in the Cornish harbour town of Fowey.
It comes as Charles’ grandson Prince George gets set to celebrate his fifth birthday next week, when a special coin will be issued by the Royal Mint.
