The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reiterated its commitment to ensuring an all-inclusive electoral process in the 2019 general elections and beyond.

Orji said that INEC was working assiduously to develop the framework for engaging women, youths as well as people with disabilities in the electoral process.

He stressed the need for the National Assembly to review the electoral process, noting that the lawmakers are the primary stakeholders in the electoral process and may invest significant time and resources in reviewing the administration of an election or specific aspects of the process.

The resident commissioner explained that INEC is considering the need for women and people with disabilities to participate more in the electoral process.

According to him;
“someone having disabilities does not mean the person does not have anything to contribute to the development of the nation.”
He praised INEC for ensuring that all eligible Nigerians are included in the electoral process, whether as voters, candidates or as observers, adding that the commission would support PLAC in achieving its set objectives.

Earlier, the executive director of PLAC, Mr. Clement Nwankwo, promised that PLAC will work with the commission to achieve inclusive framework before the 2019 general elections.
