The Nigerian Army has confirmed six dead as the troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) foiled an attack by Boko Haram insurgents in Kumshe town, Borno State.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu made this known in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.
Nwachukwu said the soldiers deployed at the Forward Operational Base (FOB) of the 152 Battalion, Kumshe, gallantly dealt with the terrorists who attempted infiltrating into their camp.
He disclosed that the terrorists, mounted on four gun trucks and several motorcycles, were met with fierce fire while attempting to infiltrate and attack the camp through the northern part of the troops’ deployment.
