Two persons were said to have died from COVID-19 complications in Ogun State within the last three weeks, the State government has said.
Ogun Commissioner for Health, Tomi Coker, said 15 new cases were also recorded in the last two weeks.
Coker, in a statement, expressed concern that Ogun had experienced a gradual rise in COVID–19 new cases lately, if compared to just two cases discovered in the whole month of June.
The Health Commissioner told newsmen that four persons were currently being managed in one of Ogun isolation centres, which she said were empty in the last one month.
She made known the determination of the government to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the State, given that eight of Ogun local government areas share borders with Lagos State that hosts a major international airport and the highly mobile community between them.
Coker urged all residents to ensure strict adherence to public health and social measures in place to stop the spread of the disease.
