Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has named Cristiano Ronaldo among five Red Devils players that should not be starting together.
According to Neville, Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes should not be starting together for Man United because they lacked ‘workhorses’.
The former defender said this while reacting to Man United’s Premier League 4-2 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday.
Leicester defeated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at the King Power Stadium, thanks to goals from Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka.
“Their performances are nowhere near good enough, at the moment when they play half-decent teams, they are going to struggle,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“The performances have been shoddy all season. It’s scrappy and scruffy to watch. So when you play against a team with a methodology, you are going to get pulled apart. They got pulled apart against Villa, pulled apart against Everton, pulled apart by Villarreal.
“We have seen a team that’s been picked today with Greenwood, Sancho, Pogba, Ronaldo and Fernandes in that team.
“I wouldn’t want to be a defender in that team. I would love them as players but not all in the same team. There are not enough workhorses. The current squad is unbalanced.”
