Good morning! Here is today’s summary from Nigerian Newspapers:

2. The Nigerian Senate, on Friday, ruled out the allegation that the Federal Ministry of Finance was not releasing funds to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government, for the purpose of executing their budgets. Senate Committee Chairman on Appropriation, Senator Jibrin Barau argued that the MDAs have enjoyed prompt release of recurrent and capital overhead funds this year.

3. United States Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken will visit Kenya, Nigeria, and Senegal from November 15-20, underscoring the depth and breadth of relationships with African partners. During the visit, the Secretary will advance U.S.-Africa collaboration on shared global priorities, including ending the COVID-19 pandemic and building back to a more inclusive global economy, combatting the climate crisis, revitalizing democracies, and advancing peace and security.

According to sources, the passengers in the coaster bus belonging to Akure North Local Government Area were on their way to Okitipupa to attend a social function of one of the Directors of the Odigbo Local Government Area of the State.

7. The Federal Government says no fewer than 67 million people have registered for National Identification Number, NIN, which is the foundation for economic growth and national security. The Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Mallam Isa Pantami, disclosed this in Paris at the Nigeria international Partnership Forum held on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum.

8. The Director, DSS, in the State, Mr Alhassan Muhammad, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on Friday in Kano, adding that the criminals had been terrorising the people of the state for the past three years.

9. The National Security Adviser, Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd), says splintering of the Boko Haram terrorist group into the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) is creating an additional stress for Nigeria.
