Just three days after a goalless draw against Tanzania in
Dar es Salaam, Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, who is undoubtedly delighted
this afternoon, could not hide his feeling at claiming his first win in charge
of the National team.
In a friendly played in Port Harcourt, Nigeria beat Niger
Republic 2-0, the delighted coach stated thus;
"No doubt I’m happy because there were improvements from the game against Tanzania and the motive of this game was to correct what was noticed. In terms of defending we did well and when we pressed we did it well but I hope to see the team keep the ball more and dictate the pace of the game."
The former Juventus and Borussia Dortmund man also insisted
that there is still room for Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi and Lille
stopper, Vincent Enyeama in his squad.
"There’s room for Mikel and the rest but so long as they all are playing regularly. All these players that featured against Niger and Tanzania were all playing for their respective teams," Oliseh added.
Speaking on Enyeama, who missed the two games because of his
mother’s death, the coach said:
"Nobody is indispensable it is only Nigeria that is indispensable. I played for the country and I retired, someone else took over and that’s life."
