2Baba, who is currently on a media tour to promote his new single; “Coded Tinz”, visited Wazobia FM, on the radio show ‘Make Una Wake Up with Yaw’ and Cool FM, on ‘Midday Oasis with Dotun. It is his first interview after officially changing his name and 2Baba took the opportunity to clear the air on his name change.
The 'African Queen' crooner pointed out that he is still the same person; Innocent Idibia. He also said that the change of name would probably not come as a surprise because a lot of people have been calling him ‘2Baba’ for a long time now.
He further explained that it was only right to officially adopt the name 2Baba as he is now more mature, a “Baba” (father) and also chief (Tafidan Kudandan in Kaduna). 2Baba also talked about the recent fight between Wizkid and Dammy Krane.
He said: “Mehn…I was really disappointed, you know, considering both of them na my people, and most importantly, Dammy and Wiz have been good friends; but I am glad they quickly put it all behind them and made peace.
“Inasmuch as it is very bad to jack another man’s property, it is also your responsibility to protect your property.”
