The names of 50 legal practitioners who is it considering for admission into the rank of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria for 2016, has been announce by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee. In an advertorial, Ahmed Saleh, the Secretary of the LPPC, who is also the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, announced that the 50 shortlisted lawyers have scaled through the first and second filtration processes towards the award of the SAN rank.

According to the publication, among those being considered for the award by the LPPC are two popular Lagos-based lawyers, Festus Keyamo and Fred Agbaje.

Others on the list are; John Odubela, Chief Olubowale Taiwo, Richard Akintunde, Chiesonu Okpoko, Chief Ikenna Egbuna, Adeyemi Ajibade, Sylvester Elema, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, Andrew Igboekwe, AbdulHakeem Mustapha, Olaseni Adio, Chief Kalu Umeh, Adewale Adesokan, Gboyega Oyewole, Edward Pwajok, Wole Agunbiade, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, Olaniyi Maruph, Olatunbosun Olanipekun, Oyetola Oshobi, Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, Emeka Okpoko, Oyesoji Oyeleke, Akeem Agbaje, Olusola Ojutalayo, Chibuike Nwokeukwu, John Majiyagbe, Elisha Kurah, Nnamonso Ekanem, Adekola Olawoye, James Ikeyi, Dr. Valerie-Janette Azinge, Chief Olusegun Akinbiyi and Wilcox Abereton.

Also shortlisted were Mba Ukweni, Adewunmi Ogunsanya, Michael Lana, Olasheni Ibiwole, Daniel Enwelum, Metalubi Adebayo, Olusegun Fowowe, Chief Olusola Oke, Chief Abdul Ajana, Bert Igwilo, Olayode Delano, Edmond Obiagwu and Kehinde Ogunwumiju.

Saleh said the LPPC welcomes comments from the public as regards the integrity and competence of the shortlisted candidates.

He said any member of the public who has any complaint about any of the shortlisted lawyers must file same before the LPPC not later than June 2, 2016, adding that such a complaint must be accompanied with a verifying affidavit deposed to before a court of record in Nigeria.
