The body of late Mrs Christiana Obiano (the mother of Governor Willie Obiano) has finally been laid to rest in Aguleri her home town. The Requiem Mass was held yesterday at St Joseph Catholic Church podium in Aguleri had people from all works of life, which includes distinguished Senators such as Sen Ben Murray Bruce, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, Sen. Andy Ubah, Sen. Annih Okonkwo, Sen. Alphonsus Ubanese, Sen Emma Anozike.
Other dignitaries present included Hon Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonaya Onu; Hon Minister of Interior, Alhaji Dambasua; Chief of Defense Staff, General Olajiseki, represented by Major gen. L.K.J Ogunleye; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Burutai, represented by Major general A.B Abubakar; Comptroller General of Prison, Jafaru Ahmed.
Members of the board of trustees and National Working Committee of APGA were all present. The National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye and Former National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh were in attendance.
The good news is that the "high and low", political allies and the opposition shelved their differences and joined in bidding Farewell to Mother Excellency, as some past governors were not left out with the immediate past governor, Mr Peter Obi, Dame Vergy Etiaba and Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, were visibly present to pay their last respect to the departed matriarch.
