Anambra State Gov Willie Obiano today inspected the Erosion Site at Odume Layout by Minaj By-pass in Obosi charging the workers to expedite action to restore the road and reclaim all the recoverable land mass.
It's evident that due the increased rainfall coupled with some avoidable human activities, flooding has become a regular occurrence each time it rains not just in Anambra State but all over the nation and beyond.
This disaster do not only cause road failures or damage of drainage structures but greatly inconveniences the people and sometimes leads to loss of lives and properties.
In response to this development, the State Government through Anambra Road Maintenance Agency has begun a commendable Rapid Response Programme to check all resulting failures and forestall further hardships on ndi Anambra.
The programme involves a lot of remedial works on any failed road, massive desilting of drainage channels and key Erosion Intervention Projects.
Last week, Gov Obiano stepped out of his mourning mood to inspect the work on the washout at Ngene Ukwa Stream, along Zik's Avenue besides The Prisons, Amawbia and then another at Uruani, Nibo where heavy Erosion control works are ongoing.
In a similar development, the governor today inspected the level and pace of work at Minaj By-pass, Odume Layout, Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area.
On ground were the overjoyed people of Odume Obosi and road users alike who trooped out en masses on hearing of the Governor's inspection visit to show solidarity and express their appreciation for the quick response from the State Government.
