Chicken pot pie is the perfect comfort food. Now you can make your own at home with this easy recipe that uses biscuits for the crust.

Servings: 6 | Prep Time: 10 Minutes | Cook Time: 25 Minutes |
Total Time: 35 Minute


Ingredients:

1 can Biscuit Dough
¼ cup Butter
1         Small Onion, chopped
3         Carrots, chopped
3 tsp         Parsley
¼ tsp Thyme



¼ cup Flour
2 cup Chicken Broth
⅔ cup Cream
3 cup Cooked Chicken, cut into chunks
1         Egg Yolk
1 tsp         Water

Directions:

  1. First, preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
  2. Melt butter in a skillet and saute the onion, celery, and carrots for about 10 minutes until the vegetables are soft. 
  3. Add flour, thyme, and parsley and cook for five minutes until the vegetables are coated with flour. 
  4. Whisk in the chicken broth and cream and cook for about 15 minutes until sauce is thick and bubbling. 
  5. Add salt, pepper, and chicken.
  6. Pour the filling into a baking sheet, and arrange biscuits on top. 
  7. In a mixing bowl, whisk egg yolk with water and brush it on top of the biscuits. 
  8. Bake in oven for about 23 minutes. 
  9. Let cool 10 minutes before serving.
