Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has described as extremely sad and disheartening, the abduction of 317 schoolgirls in Zamfara State.
Saraki in a series of tweet on Friday said abductions in the country have become too frequent and too specific to be ignored as not being part of some nefarious agenda.
He further called on the Federal Government to do everything in its power to secure the release of the girls.
”I just got off the phone with Governor Bello Matawalle. During the call, I commiserated with him over the abduction of over 300 young schoolgirls from Jangebe town in Zamfara and prayed that the young girls will soon be reunited with their families.
”It is extremely sad and disheartening that once again we must extend our prayers and best wishes to the abducted Zamfara school children and their families.
” It is my hope that these school children and all others that have been abducted are quickly released and reunited with their families.
”The Federal Government must do everything in its power to make this happen and our security agencies must continue to work hard to adopt preventive measures to ensure that such occurrences cease to occur across the nation,” he added.
