Thomas Tuchel has warned that his Chelsea side can still be more lethal in the final third after booking their place in the Champions League quarter-finals at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Chelsea recorded a comfortable win over Atletico Madrid, sealing a 3-0 aggregate through goals on the night from Hakim Ziyech and Emerson Palmieri.
Chelsea’s goals came through fine counter attacking moves but the German tactician still sees that as an area where his side can improve going forward.
The former PSG boss is eager to see his side grow more clinical in the latter stages of the competition.
“We need to improve in counter attacks, the first contact after we win the ball when we implement more forward thinking to exploit space,” Tuchel told a post-match press conference.
“We want to be more clinical and with precise decision making with counter attacks. We are still lacking the last pass.”
