Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that Uruguayan striker, Edinson Cavani is not sure about signing a new one year contract with Manchester United.
The Norwegian tactician, however, urged the 34-year-old to sign the deal and remain at the club.
Cavani put up a good performance on Sunday as Manchester United scored two goals in the second half to beat Tottenham in London.
The former Paris Saint-Germain striker scored his eighth goal of the season to put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side 3-1 up, with a fantastic diving header, while his first half strike was ruled out by VAR.
Solskjaer wants Cavani to remain at Old Trafford and wants to trigger a 12-month extension clause in his existing deal to ensure he stays until 2022.
The striker is torn between staying at the club and returning to South America, with Boca Juniors keen on signing him
Solskjaer was asked after the game against Spurs if Cavani will stay at the club, he told Sky Sports, “That’s up to Edi. He knows my feelings, I know his feelings.
“He’s not made up his mind yet. I understand it’s been a difficult year for everyone but for a new lad that doesn’t speak English and not to feel the English culture, to go and see people, to have friends around, it’s in the back of your head if this is what you want.
“You can’t have your family over. Fingers crossed but if he decides it’s just this season we’ve been fortunate to have him here.”
