Manchester United legend, Roy Keane has given reasons the club should rather sign Erling Haaland instead of Harry Kane.
Keane picked Haaland over Kane because of the age difference between them and also the investment behind such a deal.
He however, said “I wouldn’t say no to Kane either if he was the second option.”
Kane’s future at Tottenham is in doubt particularly as the club look set to miss out on the top four.
And 20-year-old Haaland is set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer with many top European clubs lining up for his signature.
Asked first if United should sign a striker, Keane told Sky Sports: “Yes 100% because United will need one.
“United want to get back to winning titles so they’ll certainly need another striker. Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, I’d take any [either] of them.”
Asked who he’d prefer to sign out of the pair, Keane replied: “Probably Haaland because of his age and the investment behind it.”
Haaland is valued at around £150m by Dortmund and the Bundesliga side are keen on selling him this summer, as a release clause in his contract means he can be bought for £62m in 2022.
