Former Chelsea star, Shaun Wright-Phillips has tipped Manchester City to win the 2021-22 Premier League title ahead of the west London club.

Chelsea are the currently league leaders while City find themselves in second place in the table on 26 points from their opening 12 games.

The Blues have lost just one of their opening 12 matches and conceding only four goals.

Ahead of this weekend’s game against Manchester United, the Blues have won nine of their last twelve games in all competitions.

But despite this, Wright-Phillips, who played for both Chelsea and Man City during his active days, believes Pep Guardiola’s side’s experience in winning the Premier League title will help them prevail.

He also thinks Liverpool and West Ham United will make up the top four clubs this term.

“For me, if City do get a striker they’d most probably run away with the league I think,” he told Metro.co.uk.

“But at the minute, I still think City are favourites because they are proven over a longer time period.

“So I’m going to go City, Chelsea, Liverpool and do you know what I’m going to go for an outsider, I’m going to say West Ham might just sneak in.”
