BBA 'The Chase' particpant, Elikem Kumordzie, has revealed that he paid $25,000 as bride price for his former fellow contestant, Pokello Nare's hand in marriage. The Former Big Brother Africa stars, Elikem Kumordzie and Pokello Nare on Saturday Jue 20, 2015 had their traditional wedding ceremony in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe.

The lovebirds, who met on season 8 of Africa's foremost reality TV show, BBA 'The Chase', dated on and off for about two years before finally deciding to become one last weekend. Speaking in an exclusive interview with PeaceFM Online, Elikem 'The Tailor', confirmed he paid a huge amount as bride price for his new bride.
"I paid a lot of money and before you pay such money for a lady's hand in marriage you have to be sure she's the one. Otherwise you will be a silly young man throwing a lot of money away. So it feels good to be married to the right woman. It feels amazing. No mistakes or regrets whatsoever", he said.
When prodded further to say exactly how much he paid for Pokello's hand in marriage, Elikem said initially, he was going to be mum about it but as different figures continued to be bandied around by the general public, he decided to correct the mis-information
"I initially didn't want to make this information public but people are getting figures wrong so I want to correct it. The lobola (Bride price for a traditional marriage in Zimbabwe) was 25,000 US Dollars. A deposit of 20,000 US Dollars was paid on Saturday and the 5,000 US Dollars balance is to be paid at the white wedding".
Meanwhile, the fashion designer has dropped the hint that their white wedding might take place in Ghana in six months time.

On the choice of Ghana where he hails from rather than his bride's country, Elikem explained that "the traditional wedding was here (Zimbabwe) because this is where the lady comes from but otherwise the white wedding should most likely be in Ghana and another reception in Zimbabwe".
