'Johnny' singer, Yemi Alade, says her BET and MAMA
nominations makes her feel she is one step away from winning the prestigious
Grammy Award. Sensational singer, Yemi Alade, has described her BET and
MAMA awards nominations as a step closer to winning the 'Holy Grail' of music,
The Grammys.
The Effyzzie signed act, who once revealed that she
performed free shows for seven years, is now one of the most sought after
female singers in Nigeria at the moment
with hit songs like the famous 'Johnny', 'KISSING', 'Tangerine' among
others.
The sexy singer (and she's damn good at dancing too) told Daily Trust, "It is difficult to describe. I received the news with an unfathomable joy in my heart. The MTV MAMAs news came barely three hours after I was nominated for four Nigerian Entertainment Awards. I was grateful, humbled and thankful. It also boosted my zeal to keep doing what I do. I feel one step closer to bagging a Grammy award".
Yemi is a nominee for the Black Entertainment Television
(BET) 2015 Awards for Best International Act Africa category while she bagged
the nominations for Best Female Act at the 2015 MTV Base Africa Music Awards as
well as Song of the Year for her breakout song 'Johnny'.
