Go up down, up down, up and down! At the 2015 BET Awards,
the cast of ‘Empire’ was on hand to,well, give the world a show– and they
totally killed it.
Slay, y’all. At the 2015 BET Awards on June 28, the stars of
Fox’s breakout series Empire showed up to put it down. Jussie Smollett,
Bryshere Gray and Serayah all represented their massive new show with a
ridiculously amazing rendition of “Drip Drop” and, honestly, it made us realize
just how much we miss Empire!
After rocking out to “Drop Drop,” they also did “You’re So
Beautiful,” which was absolutely amazing. Terrence Howard introduced his
“family,” and he should be super proud!
Empire isn’t even on the air right now, and yet it’s still
managing to practically steal the show. Jussie, Bryshere and Serayah (or, as we
have come to know them, Jamal, Hakeem and Tiana) have been just three of the
show’s many breakout stars and, with this performance, it’s clear that this is
just the beginning for the talented kids. The series, which also stars already
bonafide superstars Taraji P. Henson and Terrance, is an ideal platform to
launch these soon-to-be megastars.
Empire, which had the biggest first season, like, ever, will
return to Fox on Sept. 23, and we have a lot of questions. Obviously. However,
along with getting some serious answers (hello, Lucious doesn’t have ALS after
all?), we’re also looking forward to getting some amazing new music. After all,
we can’t just continue to listen to “Drip Drop” on a loop for the rest of our
lives (well, we can. We kinda do. But still).
The killer BET performance comes just on the heels of the
cast’s equally amazing medley performance at the May 17 Billboard Music Awards.
And, hopefully, it is just another in a series of awesome appearances, while we
bide our time waiting for the show to return!
What did you think of the Empire cast’s performance? Are you
excited for season two?
